Our website has been down for quite some time now, just a little update to say we are currently working on it & should have all of the updated information available by the end of the week! If you would like to get in touch with us please give us a call on 01361 883379.
It's been a while! Where to start?
Firstly, we would like to apologise for the phone lines being down for a couple of weeks in March. Luckily everything is back up & running now.

As usual January was a quiet time at the Black Bull, after the excitement of Christmas people are understandably in need of a rest. February was much the same, then March came around!

We held our second "Burns Brunch" which was a sell out once again! It was an absolutely fantastic day, chaired by Davie Scott, with a selection of talented musicians who kept the buzz going all day!
In the middle of March Alan, Pam & Hayley attended an awards ceremony & came home with a Bronze 'Best Bar None' award! To put it simply, this award is used to show customers that we are a safe place, families & children are welcome, we do not tolerate any anti-social behaviour (not that we have this problem in Duns!) & we have made an effort to ensure the safety & well being of all who come into the premises.

April has been another busy month for us. With the beautiful weather we've been having our beer garden has definitely been getting it's chance to shine. With our new gazebo up (lights & heaters included) the enjoyment can last a little longer too!
A Heart For Duns held a Beer & Food Festival in the Volunteer Hall, Alan provided his expertise on the beer side of things. This was a fantastic day & the turnout was incredible, for a small town such as Duns, the support shown was outstanding.
Following the beer & food festival we had some live music! "Sultan One" joined us for an afternoon of Dire Straits, The Shadows, Gary Moore, Snowy White & Eric Clapton. This again was fantastic & a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon in the pub!
Saturday 14th June we held our first ever beer festival...and what a day it was! We are all so pleased with the turn out & would like to thank everybody who made it along! The music provided by Scott Spence & Derek Huffman in the afternoon was fantastic as was the evening music provided by Raymond Chisholm! As this was our first attempt we have learned a few things from it (more garden chairs for example!) so we can make sure the next one will be even better! If you have any suggestions for us please click the "contact us" tab and let us know!
This Saturday - 14th June 2014 - we are holding our first beer festival! We now have over 30 Cask Ales that will be on throughout the day and a couple of real craft Ciders. We're also going to have a selction of wine! Children are welcome - we are setting up a games room for them - but must vacate by 8pm. Food will be available during the day & a childrens menu will be available.
Our main music stars include Raymond Chisholm who played on a regular basis in the past - it's his comeback gig! We also have Derek Huffman who also plays in a local band & Scott Spence who will all be doing acoustic songs. In the evening we're hoping to have a local singing group made up of Ex-Reivers & Reivers Lasses.
Looking to be a busy day - we advise half pints if you'd like to try a few things!
On Saturday 14th June we are holding our first ever Beer Festival! As it is our first one we are doing it for 1 day only & it's definitely looking to be a very successful day. Everybody is welcome to come along! Even if you don't drink Real Ale, come along for a few drinks in the beer garden (hopefully the weather allows it!) & enjoy the company & music.
On Sunday 2nd March we are holding a Burns Brunch for the first time in quite a few years! This is now SOLD OUT! Looking to be a very good & busy day!
New Menu! We have now changed our Menu which can be found in the drop down menu of the "Restaurant" tab.

Pensioners Lunch - Now Available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday!

Tempest - Real Ale brewed in Kelso, will now be a permanent feature in the bar. We have 3 real ale pumps & have designated one just for Tempest Beers. We always have 2 beers on (3 at weekends) & Tempest is proving to be very popular with the locals!

We are starting to plan our first ever Beer Festival but we are in the early stages so when we know more we will let everybody know!
